From Erden Timur to Ali Koç: I sleep soundly!

Galatasaray and Fenerbahçetook to the pitch at the 11 Nisan Stadium to face each other in the Super Cup match.

The yellow-red team took a 1-0 lead in the 1st minute with a goal by Mauro Icardi.Before the kickoff could even be taken following the goal, the yellow-navy players headed to the locker room and walked off the pitch.

The match referee, Volkan Bayarslan, and his assistants waited for a while and, after confirming that Fenerbahçe would not return, abandoned the match in the 4th minute.

Following the match Galatasaray AŞ Deputy Chairman Erden Timur made statements.

In his statement, Erden Timur said; "I suppose no one would have wanted a match like this. It would have been better for everyone, and for the fans in Urfa, if the match had been played. The fundamental issue is for this tension to end. Everyone is worried that if the tension continues, different things might happen. No matter how much we explain, everything ends on the pitch. The most important thing here for everyone in society, whether biased or neutral, to know whether injustices have occurred is data. Each injustice needs to be examined one by one. Let these come to light; we say that everyone should accept the results of these in advance. Everyone should see the truth so that the question marks in people's minds can be removed as soon as possible." he said. 

Continuing his remarks, Erden Timur said; "Transparency is beneficial for such things. Recently, a referee meeting was leaked. First, the part regarding Galatasaray was leaked. Then the TFF published the whole thing, and it was seen. By hiding information, we can manipulate everyone. The only way to prevent this is through transparency." he stated. 

TFF'S ELECTION DECISION

Galatasaray AŞ Deputy Chairman; "A person's ability to sleep soundly depends on their inner peace, which is why we always sleep soundly. There is so much to say. I have been insulted nearly 20 times personally. I have never once retaliated. If I were to retaliate, I would receive much more positive feedback from my own fans. For the sake of not escalating societal tension, everyone needs to see everything as it is. We have called for the TFF to resign many times. The Union of Clubs was beginning to collect signatures. The federation made this announcement in response to that. The stance shown by the clubs has achieved its purpose. Let there always be a proper federation and proper committees. These lists consist of nearly 100 people." he said. 

Erden Timur regarding social media posts; "Football also has an entertainment side. Of course, the dosage and level of that are important. The entire structure on social media needs to be investigated. Otherwise, manipulations are carried out and the issue goes nowhere. If everyone is examined, whoever is doing wrong will naturally be exposed. The state needs to launch an investigation into this matter. As you know, after I said 'let clean hands begin,' a lot of things happened. Perhaps if everyone had signed the documents aimed at resolving this back then, none of this would have happened." he said. 

Regarding the trophy ceremony, Erden Timur stated; "Nothing was discussed on this matter. Everything must be done to reduce tension. I believe the parties involved must also be ready to do this." he added.
