Harsh statements from Dursun Özbek after Galatasaray-Eyüpspor match: 'Assign Oğuzhan Çakır to all our matches'

In the 14th week of the Trendyol Super Lig, Galatasaray drew 2-2 at home against Eyüpspor.

Following the match, Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek made statements to the press.

President Dursun Özbek said, “Today we watched a game on our home turf. I congratulate Eyüpspor here. At the same time, I congratulate the honorable federation president and the Central Referee Committee (MHK) chairman, all of them. A very beautiful game was prepared, and they played it quite well. I am not saying anything to the referee because he did what he was told, he did his duty.

I am calling out to the MHK chairman from here; I want you to assign Oğuzhan Çakır to all our matches from now on. There is a saying from the past; ‘Football in Turkey is a game played against Galatasaray.’

The honorable federation president expressed this in the past. Regarding a comment from our coach, he said, ‘Watch and see if I assign this referee again or not.’ He assigned him tonight out of spite. Galatasaray is in all of his speeches.
