Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek: 'Our rivals are being favored'
Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek made sharp remarks during the council meeting regarding allegations that rivals are being favored. Özbek emphasized that this situation is not new.
Galatasaray Club's November ordinary council meeting was held at RAMS Park under the chairmanship of Aykutalp Derkan. Club President Dursun Özbek, Second President Metin Öztürk, and other board members attended the meeting. Before the meeting, a moment of silence was held for the soldiers who lost their lives in the military cargo plane crash on the Azerbaijan-Georgia border.
'WHAT ARE WE FIGHTING AGAINST'
Taking the floor at the meeting, Dursun Özbek responded to a member's claims that their two rivals in the Super Lig were being favored. Özbek stated, "Is the favoring of our rivals something specific to today? What have we been fighting against since the past? Look at what we have been fighting against for the last 3 years," indicating that this situation is not new.
Özbek also provided information about Galatasaray's football management. He stated that they have established an organization to manage football at the club and that this structure does not only deal with training, but also with issues such as opponent analysis and player performance evaluation. Noting that the structure in Kemerburgaz consists of approximately 45-50 people, Özbek emphasized that Galatasaray is progressing successfully in football.
Özbek's remark, "There is a structure to carry out football activities. Now the word 'structure' will be misunderstood as well," caused laughter in the hall.
