Deniz Öncü makes history: First Turkish victory in Moto2
Deniz Öncü secured first place in the 8th round of the Moto2 World Championship held in Spain, becoming the first Turkish athlete to win in this category.
National motorcycle racer Deniz Öncü finished the 8th round of the Moto2 World Championship held in Spain in first place.
According to the statement made by the Turkish Motorcycle Federation, Deniz Öncü achieved a historic success in the race held at the Motorland Aragon Circuit.
Competing for the Red Bull KTM Ajo team, the Turkish athlete managed to become the first Turkish sportsman to win in Moto2 by overtaking his rival Diogo Moreira on the final straight by a margin of 0.003 seconds.
Deniz Öncü, who brought Turkey its first Moto2 victory, experienced emotional moments on the podium.
With this result, Deniz Öncü rose to 7th place in the general classification with 62 points.
