New contract crisis with Osayi-Samuel at Fenerbahçe: Ali Koç finds his salary demand too high

The contract of Bright Osayi-Samuel, whom Fenerbahçe transferred from Queens Park Rangers for a fee of 500 thousand euros during the 2020/2021 winter transfer window, expires at the end of this season.

The Nigerian footballer, who was transferred as a winger, was utilized in the right-back position during the Vitor Pereira era.

Osayi, who has become one of Fenerbahçe's indispensable players with his performance at right-back, has also become one of the valuable names in Europe.

Although the Yellow-Navy club wants to continue with the Nigerian footballer, Osayi's demands have led the negotiations to a stalemate.

According to a report by Sözcü, the player, whose contract expires at the end of this season, is stalling on signing a new deal with Fenerbahçe.

OSAYI-SAMUEL'S SALARY EXPECTATIONS

Although the Yellow-Navy management offered the player a new three-year contract, there has been a disagreement in salary negotiations.

It has been learned that Osayi is requesting a guaranteed salary of 2.5 million euros plus bonuses from Fenerbahçe.

Fenerbahçe officials, however, find this figure high. The management plans to push economic conditions to offer a fee close to this amount. At the same time, it is known that the Nigerian star has received offers from England, where he played for many years.

PLANS TO RETURN TO ENGLAND

As the possibility of Osayi-Samuel returning to English football appears on the horizon, Fenerbahçe is working to prevent this situation from turning into a crisis.

The management does not want to lose the star footballer, whose value has increased 16-fold since his arrival, without generating any transfer fee revenue.

If an agreement cannot be reached, efforts will be made to sell Osayi during the mid-season transfer window.

The player has the right to sign a free transfer agreement for the upcoming season in January.
