The announcement by Turkish Football Federation (TFF) President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu that 152 referees were actively placing bets has caused a major stir in the football community. The fact that 7 top-tier referees are among these 152 has deepened the controversy.

7 TOP-TIER REFEREES INCLUDED

It drew attention that top-tier referees such as Zorbay Küçük, Yunus Dursun, Seyfettin Alper Yılmaz, Melih Kurt, Mehmet Ali Özer, Egemen Artun, and Muhammed Selim Özbek were included in the list announced by the TFF.

The matches officiated by these referees have been placed under detailed investigation.

Ali Naci Küçük put forward a bombshell claim regarding the referees who placed bets.

Küçük stated that one of these 7 referees placed a bet that a red card would be issued in a match he was officiating and won 10 times the amount he wagered.

Küçük revealed that the referee who placed the bet wagered on a red card being issued in a lower-league match he was officiating, turning a large sum of approximately 470-480 thousand Turkish Lira into winnings close to 5 million Turkish Lira.
