Victor Osimhen takes the crown in the Süper Lig

As the 2024-2025 season of the Trendyol Süper Lig concluded with matches played today, the season's top scorer has been determined. Galatasaray's Nigerian footballer Victor Osimhen finished the season as the top scorer. Osimhen found the back of the net 26 times in the 30 matches he played. Following the 26-year-old footballer, Başakşehir's Polish player Krzysztof Piatek came in second with 21 goals, and Fenerbahçe's Moroccan player Youssef En Nesyri finished third with 20 goals.

Scoring 26 goals in the Süper Lig, 6 in the UEFA Europa League, and 5 in the Turkish Cup, Victor Osimhen recorded a total of 37 goals, marking his most prolific season. Osimhen also became the record holder for the highest-scoring foreign player in Turkish football.

With this achievement, the Nigerian footballer became the 16th foreign player to win the top scorer title in the Süper Lig. To date, 16 foreign players have won the top scorer title across 17 seasons in the league. Bosnian footballer Tarık Hodzic, playing for Galatasaray, became the first foreign player to be the top scorer by netting 16 goals in the 1983-1984 season.
