Germany secures World Cup ticket with 6 goals

The final week matches of the European qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held jointly by the USA, Canada, and Mexico between June 11 and July 19, 2026, are continuing.

Germany, which started the qualifiers in Group A with a defeat to Slovakia, gave no chance to their opponents in the final match they hosted. Nagelsmann's students left the field with a 6-0 victory, securing their 5th consecutive win and finishing the group as leaders with 15 points.

Leroy Sane, who plays for Galatasaray, played an important role in the victory with a performance of 2 goals and 1 assist. Slovakia's captain, Fenerbahçe's Milan Skriniar, remained on the field for 90 minutes.

With this result, Germany, which directly received a ticket to the 2026 World Cup, qualified to compete in the finals for the 21st time. Germany, which is among the most successful national teams in world football, won the World Cup in 1954, 1974, 1990, and 2014.

Slovakia, which finished the group in 2nd place with 12 points, will play in the play-offs.
