Harsh statement from Trabzonspor: 'We hope this is not the finale of the theater'

Trabzonspor released a statement titled "We hope the finale of the 'theater' that has been going on for weeks is not staged tomorrow evening!" ahead of their Süper Lig match against Fenerbahçe.

Here is Trabzonspor's statement:

"In our matches against Galatasaray, Atakaş Hatayspor, and Siltaş Yapı Pendikspor, our points were stolen as a result of decisions that we cannot call referee errors but are completely intentional, and our player was sent off due to an unfairly issued card.

Although it was stated in our meeting with TFF officials that the referee of the Siltaş Yapı Pendikspor match was penalized, he continued to blow the whistle, and despite us conveying to the TFF the 'allegation that the observer of the same match was called to change his report,' no action was taken.

In the VavaCars Fatih Karagümrük match, the obvious goal scored by Onuachu was disallowed. In that position, our player headed the ball before it reached the goalkeeper's hands, and the referee Ali Şansalan blew the whistle for a foul, preventing VAR intervention.

As Trabzonspor Club, we have repeatedly conveyed our request for referee performances to be 'monitored carefully' to TFF President Mr. Mehmet Büyükekşi. However, we see that the system continues in the same way, and some referees continue to carry water to someone else's mill.

We hope that the finale of this theater, which has been going on for weeks, will not be staged in the Fenerbahçe match we will play this weekend, and that it will be a match where Fair Play prevails, the one who plays well wins by their own merit, and no one is granted the right to discrimination. We announce to the entire football public that we will do what is necessary against any negativity that may occur outside of the elements we have mentioned!"
