Hasan Arat: 'Our greatest project is reputation and trust!'

Beşiktaş Club Presidential Candidate Hasan Arat stated that the decision for the general assembly was taken late and that the process has harmed Beşiktaş.

Arat, one of the presidential candidates ahead of the extraordinary general assembly of Beşiktaş Club to be held on December 3, met with Beşiktaş JK General Assembly members in a hotel in Ankara.

Stating that he believes the presidential race will be very gentlemanly, Arat said, "We will survive with projects and ideas without hurting each other. Elections give energy to communities; I see this energy everywhere I go. You should see the young people all over Anatolia; the youth are very much in control of the club."

Explaining his sports life and the projects he will implement if elected president to the guests with a slide show, Arat said, "The crescent and star in Beşiktaş is very valuable. Beşiktaş is a club that gave its athletes as martyrs during the founding of the republic. Being a Beşiktaş fan is different; it has earned this crescent and star by being very deserving. The path of Beşiktaş fans is different; it represents justice, honesty, and humanity; Beşiktaş is the place where all beautiful values unite. The Republic of Beşiktaş represents Atatürk."

Arat, stating that as someone who has been involved with Beşiktaş for 44 years, he is very closely interested in the issues of the community, spoke as follows:

"There was a communication problem in Beşiktaş, and now this problem has become unbearable at certain points. Especially after the processes experienced in transfers, I sent a message stating that Beşiktaş should immediately go to an extraordinary congress. Transfers were made with extremely expensive costs, 4-year agreements were made with some players, and the sporting director resigned as soon as the season started. In other words, the person you had make these transfers resigned. The maneuvers to extend the time were extremely wrong; the general assembly should have been held as soon as possible. I have always said that I am ready here. Those who managed Beşiktaş in the past tried to design Beşiktaş from plazas. Until the last 23 days, everyone asked me about my project, my list, and I said, 'Who is against me? There is no one against me.'"

Expressing that Beşiktaş has suffered great damage from the process and that the coaching change was made too late, Arat said, "The plans made did not work, and 40 days before the election, the Tüpraş money was cashed in. No management can cash in 3 years of Tüpraş money 40 days before an election; it is not ethical. We announced our projects, and after we announced our projects, everyone said how these projects could not be done. You should also explain your own projects; everyone defends their own project, we did our homework well."

You cannot do anything without reputation and trust. For this, you will use financial instruments. Beşiktaş obtained all the title deeds it has during the time of Süleyman brother (Seba). In the 23 years since that day, not a single title deed has been added; they have squandered the places that existed."

Explaining that they will make significant improvements to the roof and fan stands of Tüpraş Stadium, Arat said, "I am someone who has held very important meetings in all the stadiums of the world. This stadium will be used in the European Football Championship, and we will also increase the capacity of the stadium."

Regarding how their relations with the TFF will continue when they become president, Arat said, "You will represent Beşiktaş well, 'no one will be able to come and wag their finger at you', and you will not let them. After December 3, no one can wag their finger at the president of Beşiktaş. The stadium is our home, everyone is our guest. A Beşiktaş fan is a gentleman; I do not establish conditional relationships with anyone, I establish a relationship worthy of the Beşiktaş crest. If my community chooses, you will see how these relationships are established. These are relationships that need to be paid attention to. Let me give an example: under the leadership of Süleyman Seba, Beşiktaş Club was the place where all clubs gathered."

Stating that he promised to be transparent in all his relationships, Arat said, "I promised to transfer my years of sports experience to my community. We had a very serious report prepared about our football team for both locals and foreigners. They said that Beşiktaş desires a fighting, ambitious team. While talking about players for the regions we need, we talked based on this character trait."

Regarding Beşiktaş Coach Rıza Çalımbay, Arat said, "Coach Rıza is worthy of this duty right now. He was actually brought in late; he should have been brought in on October 6. A correct agreement was made; I wish they had made the other agreements like that too. If we take office, we will sit down and talk. We also have important projects for the infrastructure.
