Hospital statement on Halil Umut Meler's health status! When will he be discharged?
A statement has been released by the hospital regarding the health status of FIFA-licensed referee Halil Umut Meler, who was subjected to a physical assault by Ankaragücü President Faruk Koca.
Following the MKE Ankaragücü – Çaykur Rizespor match in the Süper Lig, which ended in a 1-1 draw, Ankaragücü President Faruk Koca entered the pitch and punched referee Halil Umut Meler.
Following the incident, which has gone down as a dark stain in Turkish football history, Koca and two individuals accompanying him were arrested, and a statement regarding the health status of referee Halil Umut Meler was issued by the hospital.
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yörübulut, the Chief Physician of the hospital where Meler is being treated, stated, "The bleeding in his left eye has begun to decrease. The fracture will heal gradually."

Stating that "there is no brain damage, and there will be no permanent damage," Yörübulut added, "His blood pressure rose slightly today due to stress; he will remain in the hospital today. We are planning his discharge for tomorrow."
