İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu makes statement on new refereeing system

Turkish Football Federation (TFF) President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu presented his plans for a new refereeing system to the Union of Clubs and stated that the changes could be implemented immediately if the clubs give their approval.

The TFF President also made important statements regarding spending limits, club debts, and contracts signed with players. Speaking at the Turkuaz Media Sports Summit, Hacıosmanoğlu emphasized that Turkish football should be managed in a fairer manner, stating, "From the very first day, we have adopted the principle of remaining at an equal distance to every club. We continue on our path with the mindset of taking ten steps for every one step taken toward us."

Touching upon the A National Team's performance in 2024, Hacıosmanoğlu noted that they reached the quarter-finals in EURO 2024 and unfortunately missed out on the semi-finals. He also said that they narrowly missed promotion to League A in the UEFA Nations League, but that they believe they will achieve this by defeating Hungary.

SINGLE CONTRACT PERIOD IS COMING

İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu stated that they continue to develop projects for the sporting and financial development of Turkish football, expressing that they are focusing on efforts to standardize the contracts that clubs sign with players. Hacıosmanoğlu said, "We will develop a single contract logic to increase the bargaining power of the clubs. Furthermore, we are working to bring overdue debts under control. Spending limits will not be relaxed, and the financial structures of the clubs will be kept under control."

NEW REFEREEING SYSTEM STATEMENT

Regarding the new refereeing system, Hacıosmanoğlu made the following statement: "This project of ours has two main pillars. The first stage involves performance evaluations and referee assignments. The second stage is an institutional restructuring; studies on the England and Germany models have been conducted and presented to the Union of Clubs. Depending on the feedback from the clubs, the changes will be implemented immediately."
