Speaking to Fenerbahçe TV, İrfan Can Kahveci said, "Fenerbahçe wants the best in every competition it participates in, it always wants the championship. Our only goal in the Süper Lig is the championship. We, like the fans, are longing for the championship. We are Fenerbahçe fans ourselves, after all. I hope and think that it will come this year. Reporting that he had a tear in his groin before the 5-0 win against Çaykur Rizespor but told the technical staff he wanted to play, İrfan Can Kahveci said, "I was a bit anxious before the match because I was also thinking about the injury.
