According to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis continues his search for a manager to entrust with the team next season. Montella, who currently manages the Turkish National Football Team, is reportedly at the top of the Italian club's list.
The report emphasizes that the Italian coach has never hidden his passion for returning to Serie A, noting that "even if it is currently just an idea, Montella has everything required to take on the job at Napoli."
It was stated that De Laurentiis recently encountered the Italian coach by chance in Rome and that the two engaged in a friendly conversation. It was noted that during the meeting, the Napoli President praised Montella for his work at Adana Demirspor and his successes with the Turkish National Team.
The report also suggested that while it is currently unknown whether this meeting will influence Napoli's managerial selection, the situation is expected to become clearer by next summer.
