Konyaspor has announced that it will wear black jerseys for the Pendikspor match to show support for the Palestinian people. The green-and-white club will also donate the proceeds from the match to the construction of a hospital in Gaza.
TÜMOSAN Konyaspor, one of the Trendyol Super Lig teams, has announced that it will take the field in black jerseys for the Pendikspor match to show support for the Palestinian people.
In a statement on the X social media platform, Konyaspor Club strongly condemned the inhumane attacks taking place in Gaza.
The green-and-white club announced its decision to wear black jerseys for the Pendikspor match to protest the situation, stating the following:
"Like the rest of the public, we are following the tragic events in Gaza with concern. We are deeply saddened by the loss of hundreds of civilians as a result of the bombing of two hospitals where women, children, and innocent people were receiving treatment. We hope that peace and tranquility will prevail in the region as soon as possible, and we strongly condemn these war crimes. We invite all societies of the world, regardless of language, religion, or race, to take action on behalf of the civilian population in Gaza.
As Konyaspor Club, we will express our reaction in the league match we will play on Saturday to make the cries of the children in Gaza heard. Our football team will wear 'Free Palestine' t-shirts during the warm-up session to draw attention to the attacks where international law and human rights are ignored, and will take the field in black jerseys. Our club will also donate all proceeds from the match to the construction of a hospital to be built in Gaza. Our great Konyaspor fans will also perform a choreography to show that they stand with the people of Palestine and Gaza."
