Legal action taken against 8 fans at Sivasspor-Beşiktaş match

It has been reported that legal action was taken against 8 fans during the match between EMS Sivasspor and Beşiktaş in the 23rd week of the Trendyol Super League.

In a statement made by the Sivas Police Department, it was recalled that all fans were searched at the turnstiles at the stadium before the match.

The statement noted that as a result of the searches, legal action was taken against 6 fans for violating Law No. 6222 on the Prevention of Violence and Disorder in Sports, and the following was recorded:

"Legal proceedings have been initiated against a total of 8 individuals: 1 person for violating Law No. 6136 on Firearms, Knives and Other Implements and Law No. 6222 on the Prevention of Violence and Disorder in Sports, and 1 person for the crimes of purchasing, accepting, or possessing drugs or stimulants for personal use, or using drugs or stimulants, as investigated by the Narcotics Branch Directorate."

The statement indicated that 1.24 grams of cocaine, 1 butterfly knife, 3 flares, 4 firecrackers, and 3 smoke bombs were seized during the body searches of the suspects.

Regarding the incident at the end of the match where two banners belonging to Sivasspor fans were taken by visiting team fans in the east upper stand, the statement noted that it was determined the act was carried out by two people, adding: "In the work carried out, the identity of 1 person has been determined and judicial proceedings have been initiated against them; our efforts to identify the second person are ongoing."
