TFF President Mehmet Büyükekşi held a press conference regarding the referee performances that have caused controversy in Turkish football in recent days.
HE DID NOT TAKE QUESTIONS, SIDESTEPPED ALLEGATIONS
Büyükekşi's failure to address the issues of money laundering and ticketing irregularities in football, which are on the agenda, and his refusal to take questions from members of the press drew reactions.
Here are Mehmet Büyükekşi's statements:
"We celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Republic. The 100th anniversary of the founding of the TFF is of great importance to us. We reiterate our 100 percent fair, 100 percent transparent, and 100 percent impartial management."
"WE WILL MEET WITH YOU EVERY 15 DAYS"
As the TFF, we are working intensively to find solutions to the common problems of football, but recently, as the dose of criticism that should be directed at our common problems has increased and its focus and tone have changed, and these criticisms are not focused on problems but are directed at rumors and directly at our federation, we will meet with you every 15 days from now on.
"WE WILL SHARE THE ANSWERS TO ALL QUESTIONS IN WRITING IN 2 DAYS"
We will not take any questions from you at the end of this meeting. We will share the answers to all questions in writing in 2 days.
"WE ARE STARTING A NEW RESTRUCTURING PROCESS IN THE MHK"
We are taking a revolutionary step regarding a strategic plan for referee appointments. We are initiating a new restructuring process in the MHK, which is practiced in Europe, especially in Germany, and where our clubs are also part of the process. We want our clubs to be involved in the decision-making mechanism by cooperating with them. Controversies regarding referee appointments, classification decisions, and referee performances will end.
"WE WILL SOON IMPLEMENT THE SEMI-AUTOMATED OFFSIDE SYSTEM"
With the semi-automated offside system that we will implement soon, we will continue to invest in technology. We will also ensure that decisions are made in a shorter time and more accurately during the match.
"WE CAN FINISH AS GROUP LEADERS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OUR HISTORY"
Our National Team achieved successful results and guaranteed its place in EURO 2024. We can finish as group leaders for the first time in our history. We rose 4 places in the FIFA world rankings to 38th place. This is our best ranking in recent times. Turkey was the country that collected the most points in October.
We were promoted to League B in the Nations League, and our goal is to be promoted to League A. We also want to end our World Cup longing.
VINCENZO MONTELLA
Vincenzo Montella also played a big role in the last two matches. He is currently in Madrid to meet with Arda Güler and Çağlar Söyüncü. He will follow their matches. We are pleased that our coach is this close and sincere with our players. As you know, Montella will reside in Istanbul.
WOMEN'S NATIONAL TEAM
We are getting the results of the efforts we have made for the Women's National Team. They won the 4 matches they played in League C. They guaranteed their promotion to the Nations League B. This success made news in UEFA. The attendance record that started in Elazığ was broken again in Çorum.
