That name is missing from Mert Hakan Yandaş's thank-you list!
Mert Hakan Yandaş, who was released after being held in custody as part of a betting investigation, drew attention for not mentioning Sadettin Saran in the message he posted on social media, despite thanking many others.
Mert Hakan Yandaş, who was held in custody as part of a betting investigation in football and released on Friday, April 3, published a statement on his social media account.
Describing the process he went through as "painful," the footballer stated that returning to the public eye was an important turning point for him.
THANK-YOU LIST DRAWS ATTENTION
In his post, Yandaş thanked the individuals who supported him throughout the process one by one, specifically mentioning Ali Koç, his son Kerim Rahmi Koç, and Aziz Yıldırım's daughter Yaz Yıldırım.
The footballer, who also thanked Şekip Mosturoğlu and club executives, also opened a separate parenthesis for his lawyers.
SARAN DETAIL STANDS OUT
It drew attention that Yandaş did not include Sadettin Saran's name in his statement.
While many names from within the club were thanked in the post, the failure to mention the current president led to various interpretations in the sports community.
Here is Mert Hakan's statement
“First of all, hello to everyone. Being able to meet with you here again after a long break, leaving behind that painful process I went through, and turning a new page is truly an indescribable feeling for me.
This process taught me most of all how to be patient, how to resist, and above all, who reaches out their hand in a person's darkest moment to dispel that darkness. There were moments when I was tired, silent, and storms were raging inside me, of course; but I never lost my hope or my faith for a single moment. While life tests us with the most difficult trials, it is actually asking us to discover the true strength within us. The real issue is not just to survive that trial; it is to walk into the future while protecting those unshakable values in your soul.
Before thanking the people who stood by me during this process, there is one person I need to thank specifically. I would like to express my infinite gratitude to my president Ali Koç for taking care of me and my family like a father every minute from the first day to the last during this difficult situation we experienced throughout the process. I will be grateful to him for the rest of my life.
I offer my gratitude to my dear family and friends who stood tall by my side on this challenging journey; to the great Fenerbahçe fans and community who were my breath with their presence and never stopped believing in me for a moment.
I sincerely thank Kerim Rahmi Koç and Yaz Yıldırım, as well as our High Council Board President Mr. Şekip Mosturoğlu and Ali Alper Alpoğlu, and our current and past board members for the support they provided on this difficult path.
I want to open a special parenthesis for my valuable lawyers who defended my rights during this difficult period; Cem Uysaler, Mert Öcel, Serkan Sarıyaprak, Ece Uysaler, Uğur Töker, Batu Mosturoğlu, Cihan Öztürk, Hasan Yaşa, Doğukan Şenol, Canan Peker, Mehmet Akif Albayrak, and Oğuzhan Alhan. You did not just put up a legal fight; you became friends to me, you became brothers. Your patience, your effort, and the hand you extended every time I fell became the brightest light in the darkness for me. I will never forget your efforts as long as I live.
Finally, I would like to say a few words about the process I went through: As a soldier who has been confident from the first day and has placed only and only the interests of Fenerbahçe in the highest corner of his heart, I must say that since the first day I signed, I have not even had the slightest thought that would be against my club. As someone whose only concern is the success of Fenerbahçe and the happiness of this community, the conscience of the entire public has registered this today.
I heartily thank everyone, especially the Great Fenerbahçe fans, who supported me and never spared their prayers and good wishes for a moment. Your presence gave me courage and an unshakable hope for the future.
With my deepest love and respect to you all...''
