Mertens explains the reason for his departure: 'That's why...'
Galatasaray's 36-year-old Belgian star Dries Mertens has explained why he left Napoli.
Galatasaray's experienced player Dries Mertens went to Naples to rest on his day off.
Mertens, whose contract with Galatasaray expires at the end of the season but who is expected to continue with the Yellow-Reds for another year, had watched his former team Napoli's training session.
"BECAUSE NOW..."
Galatasaray's experienced star Dries Mertens also responded to a question about why he left the Italian club.
The successful footballer, who wore the Napoli jersey for 9 years, replied, "Because I had slowed down, that's why. After playing in Naples for many years, you become a fan of the place. I knew what it meant to win the Scudetto (Championship), I would have liked that, but I watched all the matches and enjoyed the football."
