Rotation statement from Montella: There might be changes!

The National Team will face Austria tomorrow as part of their preparations for the 2024 European Football Championship.

Ahead of the match, National Team Head Coach Vincenzo Montella made statements.

Starting his remarks regarding the Austria match, Montella said, "You might see changes compared to the Hungary match. I want to start different players as well. I want to see our team be courageous and chase the game until the end. I would like us to be the side that is accurate in the final 20 meters."

Stating that the Austrian and Hungarian national teams have different game formations, Montella assessed, "It should be said like this. Two different teams. Their structures when building up play are different. They tend to build up with a 3+1 formation when they are not under pressure. We are talking about a team that has not been defeated and has not conceded a goal in their last 3-4 matches."

"WE ARE TALKING ABOUT 3 VERY VALUABLE PLAYERS"

Responding to a question about Arda Güler, Kenan Yıldız, and Can Uzun, Montella said, "Sometimes we forget, but we will be one of the youngest teams in the European Championship. As a coach, I always want them to gain experience. Both by spending time with us and by giving them minutes, but you know that they need to find space and time at their own clubs so they can develop their talents. We are talking about 3 very valuable players, and there is a thought on my part that they will be very good players not only now but also in the future. They are in good condition and continue to train."

"HE PLAYED HIS BEST MATCH"

Answering a question about Hakan Çalhanoğlu's performance at his club and for the national team, Montella replied, "Hakan Çalhanoğlu played his best match for the national team in the last game. We have a very good player. Such champion players are open to criticism, and I think this is normal. I can say that he is a great footballer and a world-class midfielder."

Regarding the European Championship squad and the starting 11, Montella stated, "Actually, it should be said like this; to be honest, it is difficult to make a prediction. We have a very large group of players. When the season ends, some of our players will have played 60 matches. There is no such thing as an ideal 11 in modern football. The tempo of the matches played is very different. A squad does not consist of only 11 players. I hope that none of our players will have any problems at the end of May, and we will try to make the best decisions."
