No gold after 40 years: We finish the 2024 Paris Olympic Games with 8 medals

According to ANKA's report, Turkey won 2 silver and 1 bronze medal in women's boxing. Hatice Akbaş and Buse Naz Çakıroğlu lost their final matches to take silver medals, while Esra Yıldız Kahraman won her third-place match to take home a bronze medal.
In the shooting discipline, the mixed 10-meter air pistol team consisting of Şevval İlayda Tarhan and Yusuf Dikeç won a silver medal after being defeated by Serbia in the final.

Buse Naz Çavuşoğlu in the women's 68 kg category and Taha Akgül in the men's 125 kg category won bronze medals. In the taekwondo discipline, Nafia Kuş Aydın won a bronze medal in the women's 67 kg category.
KUZEY TUNÇELLİ BROKE THE WORLD JUNIOR RECORD
The "Sultans of the Net" (women's national volleyball team) finished fourth in the Olympics, where they reached the semi-finals for the first time in their history, after losing to Italy in the semi-finals and to Brazil in the third-place match. In swimming, 16-year-old athlete Kuzey Tunçelli, who represented Turkey in a final for the first time in Olympic history, finished 5th with a time of 14:41.22 and broke the "World Junior Record."
WE SLIPPED FROM 20TH TO 64TH PLACE
Turkey experienced its least successful Olympic Games since 1984. Turkey had finished the previous Olympics (Tokyo 2020) with 2 gold, 2 silver, and 9 bronze medals. Having ranked 20th in the medal standings in Tokyo, Turkey finished Paris 2024 in 64th place.
First represented in London 1908, Turkey had accumulated 41 gold, 27 silver, and 36 bronze medals up until the Paris Olympics. With the 8 medals won at these Olympics, Turkey increased its total medal count in Olympic history to 112.
OUR FIRST MEDAL IN SHOOTING
Competing in the mixed 10-meter air pistol category at the Paris Olympics, Şevval İlayda Tarhan and Yusuf Dikeç won Turkey's first-ever medal in the shooting discipline in Olympic history. Shooting became the 10th sport in which Turkey has won a medal throughout its Summer Olympics history.
