Official statement released! Here is the TFF's Super Cup decision...

The Turkish Football Federation has issued a statement regarding the recent debates over where the Super Cup match will be played. 

In the statement, it was announced that the Super Cup match between Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray will take place on December 29 in Saudi Arabia, and that this decision will not be changed.

Here is the statement from the TFF;

"As the Turkish Football Federation, while we carry out efforts to increase the brand value of Turkish football, we are also working to reach new markets and open our football to the world.

The successes achieved by our National Team in recent times and the rising performance of our club teams in European Cups are the most important indicators of our efforts to increase the brand value of Turkish football.

The 2024 European Football Championship, which we qualified for as group leaders for the first time in our history, and the 2032 European Football Championship, which we will co-host with Italy, will also be very important organizations that will carry Turkish football to the world stage.

For these successes to become sustainable, our clubs, in particular, need to reach financially competitive levels.

As the TFF, within this framework, we are carrying out very important projects to strengthen the economy of Turkish football and create alternative revenue sources for our clubs.

Before this season, we signed the largest sponsorship agreement in the history of the Süper Lig and the 1st League with Trendyol, worth approximately 700 million TL.

Just as the Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A—the leagues with the highest brand and market value in the world—have done, we aim to generate more revenue through new sponsorship and cooperation models by carrying the prestige of our football abroad.

With this vision, in order to increase the brand value of our football, the 2023 Turkcell Super Cup match, for which the organization authority belongs to our Federation, will be played at the Al-Awwal Park (King Saud University) Stadium in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 20.45 TSI, as we have previously announced. At the same time, it will be broadcast live on ATV, one of the channels of our broadcaster, Turkuaz Media Group. We kindly request that no statements other than the official statements made by our Federation regarding the subject be given any credence."
