Okan Buruk evaluates Mourinho's gesture: I would have been penalized too

Regarding Jose Mourinho pinching his nose after the Fenerbahçe derby, Okan Buruk said, "No one would expect to be physically assaulted in that situation. If I had reacted differently, I would have been penalized too. If I had stayed on my feet, I might have even received a 10-match ban."

Okan Buruk evaluates Mourinho's gesture: I would have been penalized too

Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk was left on the ground after Fenerbahçe manager Jose Mourinho pinched his nose following the derby match. Buruk evaluated the moment of the incident for TV100. Stating that he was surprised by the referee's report, Buruk said:

"I didn't understand why the referee wrote it that way in his report. The fact that saying 'the referee managed the match well' is considered a provocation by the referee himself is an Aziz Nesin story in its own right. After the match, administrative director Uğur Yıldız came and told me. He said, 'The referee gave you a yellow card.' That was how I found out about the incident. I learned something new today."

"I was the one who took the blow, yet some segments are looking at me falling and almost saying 'Good for him' to the man! I am staying silent because I really don't want to prolong this."

"No one would expect to be physically assaulted in that situation. Who would expect that anyway! I wasn't calculating my reaction while falling! The man even scratched my face with his fingernails! He made a violent move, and it hurt! If I had reacted differently, I would have been penalized too. If I had stayed on my feet, I might have even received a 10-match ban."
