Okan Buruk responds to departure rumors! What will his future at Galatasaray be?
Following their 2-0 victory against Bodrum FK, Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk made statements regarding their goals for success in Europe and addressed rumors about his future.
Galatasaray's successful manager Okan Buruk answered questions from members of the press following the Bodrum FK match.
Stating that he desires to compete and achieve success in Europe, Buruk said, "I love playing in Europe and being successful; I want that."
Expressing that they could not achieve the success they wanted in Europe in previous seasons, Buruk remarked, "Last year we carried it along with the Champions League, which is not easy. We were eliminated from Europe due to injuries and mid-season transfers."
CLAIMS REGARDING ITALIAN CLUBS
Okan Buruk's name had been linked with Italian clubs such as Roma and Lazio. However, Buruk spoke clearly about his future at Galatasaray. "My contract with Galatasaray continues. As long as Galatasaray wants me, I will be here. We experienced championships for two years, and we are on the path to another championship. Being the manager of Galatasaray is very important and a source of pride for me," he said, expressing his desire to remain at the yellow-red club.
Evaluating the difficulties and successes of every season he has spent at Galatasaray, Buruk stated, "The first championship was difficult. The second season was also difficult, it went down to the wire. This year is just as difficult." He emphasized that squad structure and luck are also important for achieving more success in Europe.
