Okan Buruk responds to İsmail Kartal's 'We are the real champions' remark
Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has responded to the 'We are the real champions' comment made by İsmail Kartal, the manager of Fenerbahçe, with whom he competed for the title last season.
Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk made statements while appearing as a guest on TV100.
The successful manager, who won back-to-back championships with the Yellow-Reds, spoke about former Fenerbahçe manager İsmail Kartal.
Following the match in the 37th week of last season where they defeated Galatasaray 1-0 away from home, İsmail Kartal had used the phrase "We are the real champions."
Buruk responded to these remarks by Kartal, saying: "You have become the champion, it is over, you are the one going to the Champions League, you are the one receiving the trophy; anything beyond that is absurd, it is funny, that is. You are already the one receiving the trophy. When you receive the trophy, it is clear who the champion is."
