Okan Buruk's statement following his PFDK suspension
Okan Buruk, who received a 1-match suspension from the PFDK, evaluated the penalty during the press conference held after the Konyaspor match, stating, "There is nothing in my interview. We will appeal this to the Arbitration Board. From now on, we will only be able to take questions regarding the matches we play ourselves."
Galatasaray Manager Okan Buruk has been handed a 1-match suspension for "making statements aimed at damaging the reputation of football and institutions" during the press conference held after the Fenerbahçe match.
Okan Buruk spoke about the penalty he received during the press conference held after their Ziraat Turkish Cup match against Konyaspor. Buruk's statements are as follows:
"I was referred to the Disciplinary Committee due to my post-match interview and I have now received a 1-match suspension. No other manager has received a penalty for this throughout the season.
I suppose everyone else has spoken. I received a 1-match suspension for the damage I allegedly caused to the brand value of Turkish football. Of course, we will go to the Arbitration Board. There was nothing here that would constitute grounds for a penalty.
There is nothing in my interview. We will appeal this to the Arbitration Board. We trust and respect the decision of the people there, but from now on, we will only be able to take questions regarding the matches we play ourselves.
This will be difficult for you as well as for us. But this is the decision made by the TFF, so I will only be able to take questions regarding this match."
