Statement from Pendikspor on 'refereeing'

In the 14th week of the Trendyol Super League, Galatasaray defeated Pendikspor 2-0 this evening. Following the match, Pendikspor released a statement.

"WE EXPERIENCED A DARK NIGHT"

The statement made from Pendikspor's social media account is as follows:

"This evening, we experienced one of the darkest nights in the name of Turkish football. We watched with shame, on behalf of the Pendikspor community that believes in its country, its values, and the country's football, the helplessness a Turkish referee fell into before the eyes of the entire nation. Throughout the match, there was a refereeing performance that used all discretionary calls in favor of our opponent, did not award our two clear penalties, and seemed almost afraid to blow the whistle. Unfortunately, we were saddened and even embarrassed by the situation of this referee, who admitted at the end of the match that he saw the positions he failed to call. While the memory of the refereeing disaster we experienced in the Çaykur Rizespor match last season is still fresh, we experienced another management scandal by the same referee. We are waiting for an answer from the Central Referee Committee regarding what the purpose of Volkan Bayarslan is, who has made scandalous decisions in every Pendikspor match he has officiated. In order to eliminate such refereeing incompetence and errors, the VAR system, which is applied all over the world, must be implemented urgently in our country as well. The only factor that will increase the brand value of Turkish football is the provision of justice on the pitch."
