PSG and B. Dortmund reach Champions League semi-finals
Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund have advanced to the semi-finals following the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second-leg matches.
The excitement of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second-leg matches began with two games. Paris Saint-Germain, who lost 3-2 to the Spanish side in the first leg at home, faced Barcelona away.
The hosts took a 1-0 lead with a goal from Raphinha in the 12th minute, but were reduced to 10 men after Ronald Araujo received a red card in the 29th minute. Ousmane Dembele, for the French side, found the net in this match as well, following his goal in the first leg, to level the score.
Taking control of the game in the second half, PSG brought the score to 3-1 with goals from Vitinha and Mbappe. The Paris side found another goal through Mbappe in the 89th minute to leave the pitch with a 4-1 victory. With a 6-4 aggregate score, PSG advanced to the semi-finals.
COMEBACKS WITNESSED
In the Atletico Madrid vs. Borussia Dortmund match, one of the most notable pairings in the Champions League, the German side emerged victorious. Dortmund, taking the field with the disadvantage of a 2-1 loss in Spain, finished the first half 2-0 ahead with goals from Brandt and Maatsen. Atletico equalized through a Hummels own goal and a strike from Angel Correa.
In a match where the tempo increased, the German yellow-and-blacks brought the score to 4-2 with consecutive goals from Niclas Füllkrug and Marcel Sabitzer. While Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Oblak prevented a larger deficit with critical saves, the match ended with this score. With a 5-4 aggregate score, Borussia Dortmund secured their ticket to the semi-finals.
The first semi-final pairing is B. Dortmund vs. Paris Saint-Germain.
In the Champions League quarter-final round, the Bayern Munich vs. Arsenal and Manchester City vs. Real Madrid matches will be played today at 22:00 TSI.
