Real Madrid advances to Final Four after 3-0 series sweep
In the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague basketball play-off quarterfinals, Real Madrid defeated Baskonia 102-98 on the road to advance to the Final Four.
The first quarter of the match, which featured the two Spanish representatives at the Buesa Arena, ended in a 22-22 tie. Baskonia finished the first half of the closely contested game with a 56-52 lead.
Taking the lead in the final period against Baskonia, which had finished the third quarter ahead 73-72, Real Madrid won the game 102-98 and became the first team to secure its spot in the Final Four.
For the Madrid side, Guerschon Yabusele played a key role in the victory with 23 points. In Baskonia, Markus Howard's 29 points were not enough to prevent the defeat.
Real Madrid's opponent in the Final Four will be the winner of the Barcelona-Olympiacos (2-1) series.
The Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four will be held in Berlin, the capital of Germany, from May 24-26.
