Record bonus announcement from Kosovo ahead of Turkey match
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has promised a massive reward to the national team if they defeat Turkey in the World Cup play-off final.
Kosovo, Turkey's opponent in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers play-off final, continues its preparations to achieve a first in the country's football history. Kosovo reached the final by defeating Slovakia 4-3 in the play-off semi-final, and all eyes are now on the historic match where they will host our national team.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti addressed the players in a statement before the match, making a move to boost their motivation. Having previously promised a 500 thousand euro bonus for the victory in the Slovakia match, Kurti announced that he would double this amount for the Turkey match, stating that a total of 1 million euros in bonuses would be given to the players if they win. This bonus reaches a magnitude never before seen in Kosovo football, setting a record.
Our National Team, which reached the final by defeating Romania, is eagerly awaiting the match against Kosovo. The challenging encounter will be played on Tuesday, March 31, at 21:45 TSI in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo. The winning team will secure their ticket to the 2026 World Cup.
