Referee outcry at Beşiktaş
Following the 3-3 draw against Trabzonspor, Beşiktaş Vice President Murat Kılıç issued harsh criticisms regarding the referee's performance, demanding an end to the injustices directed at Beşiktaş.
Trabzonspor and Beşiktaş faced off in the final derby of the year in the Süper Lig. The match ended in a 3-3 draw. Beşiktaş played with 10 men from the 38th minute onwards.
Beşiktaş Vice President Murat Kılıç made harsh criticisms of the referee's performance after the match.
In his statement, Murat Kılıç said: “We are calling out to the VAR referee. In a situation where there is no clear and obvious error, the VAR referee cannot call the referee according to the rules. We were respectful of every decision made by the referee on the pitch. In recent weeks, VAR has not called for positions where it should have. When our game is going well, they decide very nicely how to break our momentum immediately. You can see here how right we were about the issue of foreign VAR referees. It is time to put an end to the injustices done to Beşiktaş. We have paid the price we were going to pay. It is time to put an end to the injustices done to Beşiktaş. From this point on, they should stop messing with Beşiktaş. They should not test our patience. They are breaking our players' motivation. If things continue like this from now on, we will do what is necessary.”
