Relegation battle decided in the final moments
The final team to be relegated from the Basketball Super League and the teams that managed to stay in the league were determined following critical matches played on the 30th week of the season. A thrilling basket in the final second secured Karşıyaka's place in the league, while Mersinspor became the third team to bid farewell to the Super League.
In the final week of the Türkiye Sigorta Basketball Super League, the fates of the teams in the relegation zone were determined by three matches played at the same time. Following Onvo Büyükçekmece Basketbol, which had already been relegated, all eyes turned to Mersinspor, Aliağa Petkimspor, and Karşıyaka.
Mersinspor was defeated 90-80 at the end of their away match against Trabzonspor. With this loss, the Mediterranean team joined the ranks of the relegated teams.
Karşıyaka hosted Bursaspor in İzmir. In a match that witnessed intense competition, Karşıyaka managed to stay in the league by winning 84-82 with a basket scored just seconds before the end. With this last-minute basket, the green-and-red team continued its journey in a near-miraculous fashion.
Aliağa Petkimspor was defeated 73-71 in their away game against Tofaş. Although they left the court defeated due to a basket conceded in the final moments, they managed to remain in the league thanks to Mersinspor's loss.
Thus, the teams relegated from the Türkiye Sigorta Basketball Super League at the end of the season were confirmed as Onvo Büyükçekmece Basketbol and Mersinspor.
