Response from Fenerbahçe to Galatasaray! 'Our Call to Galatasaray Sports Club'

Following the remarks by Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek and Second President Metin Öztürk, Fenerbahçe responded to Galatasaray via its social media account.

Here is Fenerbahçe's statement:

"Our Call to Galatasaray Sports Club

Our rival, which makes 'calls for moderation' when everything is going well for them but announces that its 'Sportif AŞ Deputy Chairman will hold a press conference' at the first sign of dropping points, held a surprise three-person—broadly participated—press conference today, which also included their President and Second President.

The fact that the sole focus of the relevant meeting, the sole target of the perceptions, and the common denominator of the directed journalists asking commissioned questions was our Club is a testament to the greatness of our Fenerbahçe!

We have witnessed this approach, which distorts the truth in almost every statement from the first sentence to the last throughout the meeting, misrepresents issues, and assumes they are clever while the entire public is unaware of the facts, many times before.

On this occasion, in order to see if they are sincere and to give them the opportunity to demonstrate this to the entire public, we reiterate our call that we have made to them many times for a long time:

As Fenerbahçe Sports Club, we invite them for the fourth time to discuss all referee decisions—not limited to just this season but also covering past periods—on any channel they choose, with questions from any journalists they choose, in front of our entire country; we await them to face the scales.

We believe that those who constantly accuse our Club with baseless rhetoric should view this call as a historic opportunity.

We leave Fenerbahçe's stance and our rival's attitude on this matter to the discretion of the public."
