Results of the night in the Champions League
The fourth week of the 2023-2024 UEFA Champions League group stage has concluded.
The most important club-level organization in European football was completed with 8 matches consisting of groups A, B, C, and D.
Galatasaray, representing Turkey in Group A, was defeated 2-1 by Bayern Munich, whom they visited, with goals from Harry Kane in the 80th and 86th minutes. The only goal for the yellow-red team came from Cedric Bakambu in the 90+3rd minute. The German team, which has 4 wins in 4 matches in the group, guaranteed its place in the next round as the leader.
In the other match of the group, Manchester United left the field with a defeat despite leading twice against Copenhagen away from home.
In the match where the English team took a 2-0 lead with goals from Rasmus Hojlund in the 3rd and 28th minutes, the Danish team found the net with Mohamed Elyounoussi in the 45th minute and Diogo Gonçalves from a penalty in the 45+9th minute, bringing the score to 2-2.
Manchester United took the lead again 3-2 with a penalty goal by Bruno Fernandes in the 69th minute. Copenhagen found the net with Lukas Lerager in the 83rd minute and Roony Bardghji in the 87th minute, and the match ended with a 4-3 victory for the home team.
In Manchester United, Marcus Rashford was shown a direct red card in the 42nd minute due to a foul on his opponent, leaving his team with 10 men.
Following these results, leader Bayern Munich with 12 points in the group was followed by Copenhagen in second place, Galatasaray in third, and Manchester United in fourth with 3 points, based on goal averages among the teams with 4 points each.
A fan entered the pitch and unfurled a Palestinian flag
On the other hand, during the first half of the match, a fan who entered the pitch protested Israel's attacks on the city of Gaza by unfurling a Palestinian flag.
The fan, who wrote the message "Stop killing children in Gaza. Ceasefire now." on the flag, was removed from the pitch by security guards after being on the field for about 1 minute. The fans supported the protest with their applause.
Three more teams secured their spot in the Round of 16
In the prominent matches, Real Madrid defeated Braga 3-0 with goals from Brahim Diaz in the 27th minute, Vinicius Junior in the 58th minute, and Rodrygo in the 61st minute, guaranteeing their exit from Group C. Alvaro Djalo of Braga failed to convert a penalty kick in the 6th minute.
National football player Arda Güler from the Spanish team followed the match from the bench.
In Group D, Inter guaranteed their spot in the Round of 16 by defeating Salzburg 1-0 away with a penalty goal by Lautaro Martinez in the 85th minute.
In the other match of the group, Real Sociedad, who beat the visiting Benfica 3-1, also secured their place in the next round.
