Ryan Babel retires from football
Dutch footballer Ryan Babel, who also played for Turkish clubs, has ended his active career.
The 37-year-old Babel announced his decision to retire in a video shared on his social media accounts with the note, "Thank you, football."
The forward, who wore the Netherlands national team jersey 69 times, played for leading European clubs such as Ajax and Liverpool, as well as Turkish teams Beşiktaş, Eyüpspor, Galatasaray, and Kasımpaşa.
Babel, who won league titles twice with Ajax and once with Beşiktaş, also played in the final of the 2010 FIFA World Cup with the national team.
