Samsunspor Club calls for support for its basketball team

Samsunspor Club has announced that it is not possible for Reeder Samsunspor, which competes in the Türkiye Sigorta Basketball Super League (TBSL), to continue its struggle in the league with its current income.

In a written statement issued by the red-and-white club, it was stated that Samsunspor takes rightful pride in being the 4th club, after Galatasaray, Beşiktaş, and Fenerbahçe, to compete in the Super League in both basketball and football.

Emphasizing that the football industry in Turkey is a sector in its own right, the statement included the following remarks:

"The necessity of making great sacrifices in economic terms has created a need for the support of the city of Samsun for basketball and other amateur branches, and these branches are being managed through the great efforts of the Samsunspor Club Association management. On this occasion, we would like to thank our president and our sponsors who have been with us until today. Our basketball team, which competes in the TBSL, continues its struggle with the lowest budget in the league. Due to many factors, our basketball team has not been able to reach its targeted budget. At the point reached today, it does not seem possible for our basketball team to continue its struggle in the TBSL with its current income. For the crest with Atatürk to remain permanent in this league, the support of our municipalities, NGOs, the city's leading commercial and industrial organizations, and business people is needed. We have full faith that this support will come today, just as it did yesterday. With the slogan 'We are enough for each other,' our board of directors continues on its path with a transparent management approach."

In the statement, the people of Samsun were invited to support Samsunspor, the city's biggest brand.
