Samsunspor's 2-window transfer ban appears on FIFA's website

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) updated its 'transfer ban' page as of today. With the new update, bad news arrived for Samsunspor, which was not previously among the clubs listed with a ban. 

The report published on June 24 stated that Samsunspor's 2-window transfer ban has come into effect as of today. The publicly released report indicated that in addition to Samsunspor, Süper Lig clubs Kayserispor, as well as TFF 2. Lig teams Yeni Malatyaspor and Giresunspor, also had June 24 listed as the start date for their 2-window transfer bans.

Clubs that were already on FIFA's previously announced list of teams with transfer bans included MKE Ankaragücü, Şanlıurfaspor, Ümraniyespor, Menemen FK, Konyaspor, Elazığspor, Adanaspor, Hatayspor, Antalyaspor, Erzurumspor, Sakaryaspor, Fatih Karagümrük, Eyüpspor, and Adana Demirspor.

The 2-window transfer ban imposed on Samsunspor due to 'unfair terminations' had been suspended by the Swiss Federal Tribunal during the mid-season break last year, allowing Samsunspor to add 3 new players to its squad. Having parted ways with 5 players from its roster at the beginning of this season and now facing a transfer ban as a result of the newly announced decision, Samsunspor will be unable to sign new players during the 2024-2025 summer and winter transfer windows unless a contrary decision is reached, and will be forced to compete throughout the season with its current squad.
