Serdal Adalı: We also want the same foreign referee
Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı commented on the referee for the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe derby, stating, "We also want the same foreign referee for our matches against Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe."
In the 25th week of the Trendyol Süper Lig, Beşiktaş defeated Eyüpspor 3-1 away from home. Following the match, President Serdal Adalı made statements.
Stating that they are playing better football every day, Adalı said, "It is beautiful football. A beautiful victory. Of course, winning is great. We are heading in the right direction. We will be even better. I congratulate our coach and our players. I would also like to thank our fans who did not leave us alone in this cold weather. We will be even better in the coming weeks."
"WE WANT THE SAME FOREIGN REFEREE FOR OUR GALATASARAY AND FENERBAHÇE MATCHES"
Evaluating the decision to have a foreign referee officiate the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe match to be played on Monday in the Super Lig, President Adalı said, "Our Federation President has made a statement, but I haven't had time to examine it fully. Despite having suffered a lot regarding referees until today, we have stated that we trust Turkish referees. With this latest decision to appoint a foreign referee for the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe match, we also want the same referee for our matches against both Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe. The Federation should make the necessary arrangements now. Since such a path has been opened, we want to see the same referee in our matches against Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe. However, I must say that this is not a good precedent to set."
Reminding that he is not a president who appears before the press very often, Adalı said, "I am not someone who talks a lot. I do not believe that talking too much brings any benefit to Beşiktaş. As Beşiktaş, we do not want our rights or anyone else's rights to be violated. We have never been that kind of community. The Federation could have made a better plan. We could have at least had the opportunity to be consulted."
"NECESSARY REINFORCEMENTS WILL BE MADE"
Stating that the team's transfer policy is progressing in a planned manner, Serdal Adalı said, "We have already started working for the summer period. The team is doing well right now. Necessary reinforcements will be made. We have a specific plan and program. We will act accordingly. Our community should know this. We are not rushing anything. The team is gradually improving. It will get even better. Hopefully, next season we will watch the Beşiktaş we want and desire."
Touching upon the debut of new signing Keny Arroyo, the president of the black-and-white club said, "Our new signings, Keny and Ricardo, encountered weather conditions completely opposite to those in their home countries. As luck would have it, it has been snowing since the day they arrived. It is not easy. They will get used to it gradually. We signed both of them with great belief. Of course, they are young players aged 18-20, it takes time. Our fans will also show patience. We will start seeing both of them on the pitch more often."
Responding to the question, "Do you think there is a move toward a monopoly in football?", Adalı concluded his remarks by saying, "Beşiktaş has always been here. Beşiktaş is the greatest in Turkish football. Let everyone know this."
