Antalyaspor manager Sergen Yalçın made a statement after the İstanbulspor match.
Speaking about the penalty position in the final minutes, Sergen Yalçın said, "I don't want it to sound like I'm making excuses, but the incident in the final minute happened right in front of the fourth official. It should have been our throw-in. In the first half, an opposing player hit a corner, and the referee gave a goal kick for a ball that was completely free. Later, he said, 'We made a mistake.' Can there be such a mistake? The last throw-in was ours, he gave it to the opponent. Then came the penalty, and we conceded a goal. There is a lot to say about the referees. The situation of the referees is already obvious. Unfortunately, the state of Turkish football is not very healthy, especially regarding the referees. Last week in Samsun, we analyzed the goal we scored; it was 100 percent our goal. Their goal was offside, that's what is 100 percent visible, but ours is called offside and the opponent's goal stands. How these lines are drawn, what is happening, what is going on, is being discussed a lot. Everyone has many complaints. I don't want it to sound like a complaint, but it is certain that there is a very serious problem. As for the referee colleagues, that is not even a dimension to be discussed," he said.
Speaking about their performance in the second half, the experienced manager said, "In the second half, the game was not one to be pitied. It was a disastrous, tragic performance. An incredibly poor game. We are making moves, but our moves are not contributing. There is nothing to say; as of today, it was meant to be. These kinds of setbacks happen. It was definitely a match where we had written down 3 points; returning with 1 point was not very healthy for us," he remarked.
GALATASARAY MATCH
Speaking about the Galatasaray match they will play next week, Sergen Yalçın said, "It is a very difficult match. A team playing for the title, a tough contest. We will prepare, we will see. I don't think it will be very easy, especially if we take today's second-half performance as a basis, it is really a bit difficult," he stated.
