Sharp response to 'salary crisis at Galatasaray' claims: Kavukcu sends message about perception operation
Sportif A.Ş. Deputy Chairman Abdullah Kavukcu has given a clear response to rumors that Galatasaray players have not received their salaries for three months. Speaking to journalist Levent Tüzemen, Kavukcu stated that the claims do not reflect the truth, while drawing attention to the payment schedule and the debt-free certificate submitted to UEFA.
An official statement has been made regarding the claims brought to the agenda in recent days that "player salaries are not being paid" at Galatasaray. Galatasaray Sportif A.Ş. Deputy Chairman Abdullah Kavukcu made evaluations regarding the payment process during a meeting with journalist Levent Tüzemen following an iftar dinner.
"WE ARE AHEAD OF EUROPE IN PAYMENTS"
Responding to Tüzemen's question regarding whether salaries were delayed, Kavukcu stated that the club is not experiencing any financial difficulties.
Drawing attention to the payment system in Europe, Kavukcu said that in most clubs, payments to players are made at the end of three months. Stating that the practice at Galatasaray is different, Kavukcu said, "January receivables are paid in February, and February receivables are paid in March. In terms of payment discipline, we are ahead of Europe."
Furthermore, emphasizing that bonuses are paid without delay in line with the sensitivity of club president Dursun Özbek, Kavukcu stated that the players' earnings are deposited into their accounts immediately.
"THE GOAL IS TO STIR UP GALATASARAY"
Arguing that the news reports about a salary crisis are intentional, Kavukcu said that the claims aim to create unrest within the club. He used the expressions, "They are doing these reports on purpose. The goal is to stir up Galatasaray and sow seeds of discord among us."
In his statement, Kavukcu also pointed to the debt-free certificate submitted to UEFA on January 15, responding to the claims with the words, "If there were a problem as claimed, could we have obtained the debt-free document we submitted to UEFA on January 15?"
