Shock for Anadolu Efes at home!

The Anadolu Efes Men's Basketball Team was defeated 103-80 by Spanish representative Real Madrid, losing by a 23-point margin in the second week of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.

Real Madrid started the match with a high percentage from behind the three-point line, taking an 11-5 lead in the 3rd minute. Despite Larkin's effective performance with 5 points and 2 assists in the first 5 minutes, Anadolu Efes failed to get scoring contributions from other players, allowing the visitors to push the lead to double digits in the 6th minute: 9-19. As the navy-and-whites failed to capitalize on open shots, the Spanish side extended the lead to 15 points (9-24) by the 8th minute. Anadolu Efes, which staged a comeback with the entry of Erkan Yılmaz, reduced the gap to 2 points (24-26) with a 15-0 run, and the first period ended with this score.

Starting the second quarter well from the outside, Anadolu Efes equalized the score in the 13th minute with a shot from Beaubois: 31-31. Increasing their defensive intensity, the visitors went on a 6-0 run. Regaining the lead after the run, Real Madrid pushed the gap to double digits in the 18th minute with consecutive three-pointers from Hezonja: 38-50. The first half ended with the Spanish side leading 55-41.

The visiting team started the second half of the match well. Converting consecutive fast breaks into points from steals, Real Madrid extended the lead to 19 points in the 22nd minute: 43-62. With a basket in the paint by Yabusele, Real Madrid pushed the lead over 20 points (48-69) for the first time in the match in the 25th minute and entered the final period leading 80-60.

Not allowing the gap to close in the final quarter, Real Madrid won the match 103-80, having dominated from start to finish.

While Anadolu Efes left the court defeated in their second match, Real Madrid secured their second consecutive victory.

The match was also attended by national archer Mete Gazoz and players from the Eczacıbaşı Dynavit Women's Volleyball Team.
