Signature threshold for extraordinary congress at Fenerbahçe reached! All eyes are now on Aziz Yıldırım...

The petition campaign launched to urge Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç to call for an extraordinary congress is receiving significant attention. While Koç had previously stated that an election could be held during the financial general assembly in September, the opposition is insisting on holding elections in June.

Responding to calls for his candidacy, former president Aziz Yıldırım had announced that he would run if 16,465 signatures (one more than the number of votes Ali Koç received in the last election) were collected. This statement has increased interest in the campaign. It has been reported that the number of signatures collected so far has exceeded 10,000. Congress members can provide their signatures at 120 different locations across Turkey. While the number of signatures required for an extraordinary general assembly has been reached, efforts continue to meet the target specified by Yıldırım.

Former Vice President İlhan Ekşioğlu stated in his remarks to TV100 that the number of signatures collected has surpassed 10,000. Ekşioğlu said, “I had received information that there were around 42,000 congress members who had paid their dues in March. At the point we have reached today, 10,000 signatures are seen as sufficient for a general assembly. Individual signatures have been submitted to the club. We estimate this number to be between 1,500 and 3,000. In the campaign organized by institutions, associations, and individuals, an estimated 7,500-8,000 signatures have been collected. In other words, the signatures have exceeded 10,000.”

Ekşioğlu called on the Fenerbahçe management to disclose the number of congress members who have paid their dues and the number of signatures submitted to the club. He further added, “This is the rebellion and sorrow of fans who are sincere and concerned about Fenerbahçe.”

Stating that President Ali Koç is polarizing the fans, Ekşioğlu expressed that the management should make a decision for elections and resign. Ekşioğlu remarked, “Therefore, what should actually happen is for the Fenerbahçe management to make an election decision regardless of the number and resign. Mr. Ali Koç is polarizing the fans. No one under this roof is a traitor or an enemy. Everyone's only concern is for Fenerbahçe to leave these unsuccessful days behind and become the champion.”
