The excitement of Group A in the 2026 World Cup began with the clash between South Korea and Czechia at Guadalajara Stadium. While fans did not see any goals in the first 45 minutes, the tempo increased in the second half, leading to goals on both sides.

Czechia took a 1-0 lead in the 59th minute when captain Krejci capitalized on a long throw-in from Coufal. South Korea did not wait long for a comeback; Hwang In-Beom equalized the score in the 67th minute.

Hyeon-Gyu Oh, who plays for Beşiktaş in our country and entered the game in the 69th minute replacing Heung Min-Son, who plays in Japan, took the stage in the 80th minute and scored the goal that put South Korea ahead.

With no further goals in the remaining time, the match ended with a 2-1 victory for South Korea. The Asian representative started the group stage with a win, reaching three points. Czechia, on the other hand, left empty-handed, losing an advantage ahead of their next matches.

In Group A, South Korea will play their next match against Mexico on June 19. Czechia will face South Africa on June 18.
