Spain may not participate in the 2026 World Cup! An ultimatum to FIFA: 'If they are there, we are not'

The Spanish government is on the verge of a significant decision regarding the 2026 World Cup. Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced that the Spanish National Team might decide not to participate if Israel takes part in the tournament, which will be held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. This statement is among the radical measures that could be taken against Israel due to the ongoing attacks on Gaza.

Spanish Member of Parliament Patxi Lopez also supported this stance, citing the exclusion of Russia from international events as an example. Lopez stated, "Israeli teams should not participate in sports events and should not be in Eurovision. Just like Russia was excluded. Why is it possible with Russia but not with Israel? What is the difference?"
