Statement from Beşiktaş regarding past membership records

Beşiktaş President Hasan Arat announced that action has been taken regarding memberships from previous periods that were contrary to the club's bylaws.

In a statement on its official website, Beşiktaş announced that the supervisory board has initiated proceedings to investigate the incidents.

Here is the statement from Beşiktaş:

"Reports and allegations reaching our Board of Directors regarding membership applications and admissions in previous periods that were conducted in violation of our club's bylaws have been evaluated. Taking into account the relevant correspondence from the Supervisory Board, and for the purpose of investigating the aforementioned allegations, the folders containing the 2023 membership files kept within the Membership Registry Committee were received on 29.12.2023 by our Board members Mr. Ekrem Keçoğlu and Mr. Kadir Kılıç, who were appointed by our Board Chairman Mr. Hasan Arat, in the presence of a Notary Public and with an official record.

The folders in question have been placed under protection in a secure area within our building.

A total of 147 folders, documents contained in 2 separate boxes, and 13 elastic-banded membership files were delivered to the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Mr. Gökhan Tiryaki, on 12.01.2024, with an official record, to be examined by a joint research committee to be established by members of the Board of Directors, the Advisory Board, and the Disciplinary Board under the chairmanship of the Supervisory Board.

The public will be informed about the process."
