Swords drawn at Fenerbahçe: Ali Koç makes 'FETÖ' insinuation against Aziz Yıldırım!

In Fenerbahçe, which finished the season in second place in the Süper Lig with 99 points, all eyes have turned to the ordinary elective general assembly.

In the critical election, current president Ali Koç, who previously announced he would not be a candidate and said, "Fenerbahçe cannot be champion while I am at the head of this club," will compete against former president Aziz Yıldırım.

Continuing his election campaign, Ali Koç was in Ankara at the invitation of the Association of Fenerbahçe Lawyers.

Expressing his hope that the election atmosphere they are in, during a meeting held at a hotel, will be a process that strengthens Fenerbahçe's democracy, Koç stated that they would do everything in their power for the community to unite even if the other presidential candidate, Aziz Yıldırım, wins.

Upon a congress member's remark, "Do those who support Aziz Yıldırım want the continuation of the system?" Ali Koç expressed the following views:

"I did not say such a thing. I did not say it to continue the system. I said the hostility towards us is related to the struggle we waged regarding the system and the values we defend. But let me say this as well. I am trying to choose my words carefully. The former president also has more contradictory statements regarding the organization's leader after 2013. My stance is the same, whether it is wrong or right, my stance is the same. I do not waver like this. We have a consistent line. The former president is someone who attaches great importance to republican values. We also passed through his tutelage. Fenerbahçe's DNA also has a stance on these issues. Unfortunately, over time, this stance of ours was dragged into politics. Because republican values have become a subject of political debate. Not according to us. We are not doing politics or anything like that."

Using the phrase "Aziz Yıldırım, who called me a 'FETÖ project'," Koç said, "That is why when the president of a rival team calls me a 'project', I do not respond. They will turn around and say, 'your president said it, my brother'."
