The long-awaited statement from the TFF on foreign referees: Who will officiate the derby?

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has issued a statement regarding Beşiktaş's request for a foreign referee for the Galatasaray derby, which will be played in the Süper Lig on March 29. TFF Board Member Zehra Neşe Kavak stated that the matter will be evaluated after the international break.

FOREIGN REFEREE HAD BEEN ON THE AGENDA

While refereeing decisions have frequently been a subject of debate in recent weeks, the implementation of foreign referees in derbies has returned to the agenda following the Super Cup final played between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe.

Beşiktaş, in particular, had officially requested a foreign referee for the match against Galatasaray to be played at Rams Park on March 29.

Providing information on the decision-making process, TFF Board Member Zehra Neşe Kavak spoke to Ekol TV and said, "We will make a decision on the foreign referee issue at the first board meeting to be held after the national matches we will play against Hungary."
