TFF makes changes to the foreign player rule!

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has made an important change to the foreign player rule that will be in effect for the 2025/26 season. At the meeting held by the TFF Board of Directors on July 7, 2025, a decision was made to amend the Instruction on the Status and Transfers of Professional Footballers and the Club Licensing and Financial Sustainability Instruction. In this context, regulations were also made regarding the statutes for the Süper Lig and TFF 1. Lig competitions.

According to the new regulation, the previous requirement that at least two players must have been born on or after January 1, 2003, has been updated to require them to have been born in 2002. This change will allow clubs a wider age range in their squad planning.
