TFF President Hacıosmanoğlu speaks on the derby referee
As referee debates continue ahead of the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe derby, TFF President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu has spoken clearly on the issue of foreign referees. Here is Hacıosmanoğlu's statement regarding foreign referees.
Referee debates remain on the agenda ahead of the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe derby to be played in the 25th week of the Süper Lig. While uncertainty continues over whether a Turkish or a foreign referee will officiate the derby, Turkish Football Federation (TFF) President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu made a clear statement on the matter.

In an interview with Fotomaç, Hacıosmanoğlu stated that no official request has been received from either Galatasaray or Fenerbahçe so far for a foreign referee to officiate the derby.
HACIOSMANOĞLU: WE WILL EVALUATE IF AN OFFICIAL REQUEST IS MADE
The TFF President used the following expressions in his statement regarding the issue:
"So far, we have not received any official application from either Fenerbahçe or Galatasaray requesting that a foreign referee officiate the derby. If both clubs make a written request stating 'we demand that a foreign referee officiate the derby,' we, as the TFF, will evaluate this request. However, there is no such situation at the moment."
