The race for second place heats up: How can Galatasaray advance from their Champions League group?
Things have heated up in Group A, where our only representative in the Champions League, Galatasaray, is competing. In last night's matches, Galatasaray lost 2-1 away to Bayern Munich, while Manchester United was defeated 4-3 by Copenhagen. While Bayern Munich has secured the top spot, there will be a fierce battle for second place in the remaining 2 matches. So, how can Galatasaray advance from their Champions League group? Here are the details.
The fourth matches of the UEFA Champions League were played last night. Our only representative in the Champions League, Galatasaray, was defeated 2-1 by German giant Bayern Munich in their fourth match in Group A. With this result, the yellow-reds remain on 4 points, while in the group's other match, Copenhagen defeated Manchester United 4-3.
With 2 matches left in the group stage, Bayern Munich has secured the lead, while the race for second place in Group A has intensified.
GROUP A STANDINGS
The standings in Galatasaray's group are as follows:
1 - Bayern Munich 12p
2 - Copenhagen 4p
3 - Galatasaray 4p
4 - Manchester United 3p
REMAINING MATCHES
The remaining matches and dates in Champions League Group A are as follows:

HOW CAN GALATASARAY ADVANCE FROM THE GROUP?
If Galatasaray wins their last two matches in Group A against Manchester United at home and Copenhagen in Denmark, they will advance to the next round regardless of the other matches.
If Copenhagen loses to Bayern Munich in their next match and Galatasaray defeats the English side, a draw (1 point) will be enough for the yellow-reds in the away match against Copenhagen.
If Galatasaray loses to Manchester United, they will have to defeat Copenhagen and wait for United to lose against Munich.
The team that finishes the group in 3rd place will go to the UEFA Europa League.
