The race for second place heats up: How can Galatasaray advance from their Champions League group?

The fourth matches of the UEFA Champions League were played last night. Our only representative in the Champions League, Galatasaray, was defeated 2-1 by German giant Bayern Munich in their fourth match in Group A. With this result, the yellow-reds remain on 4 points, while in the group's other match, Copenhagen defeated Manchester United 4-3.

With 2 matches left in the group stage, Bayern Munich has secured the lead, while the race for second place in Group A has intensified.

HOW CAN GALATASARAY ADVANCE FROM THE GROUP?

If Galatasaray wins their last two matches in Group A against Manchester United at home and Copenhagen in Denmark, they will advance to the next round regardless of the other matches.

If Copenhagen loses to Bayern Munich in their next match and Galatasaray defeats the English side, a draw (1 point) will be enough for the yellow-reds in the away match against Copenhagen.

If Galatasaray loses to Manchester United, they will have to defeat Copenhagen and wait for United to lose against Munich.

The team that finishes the group in 3rd place will go to the UEFA Europa League.
